Service and Leadership Development

Center for creative leadership development program

Spring 2018

As a Caldwell Fellow, I had the opportunity to attend an intensive three-day leadership development program focused on self-analysis and group dynamics. I have used the information gained through this experience to better understand my communication style and how to apply it through servant leadership.

I have worked on two separate projects in 2017 and 2018 with the Wake county Habitat for Humanity chapter to develop specialized maps for their advocacy committee. In Fall of 2018 I lead a team of Sophomore Caldwell students on a project to map homeownership discrepancy by race in Wake county. The maps we generated are used by the committee to better understand the need for affordable housing in Wake county and communicate that need to elected officials. These maps have been used to positively influence policies in Wake county.
